Lead Scrum Master

 

Role

Aspira are currently seeking a Lead Scrum Master with 7+ years of experience working as a scrum master on complex software development projects and fully familiar with the complete software development lifecycle, to work on a high profile project in Abu Dhabi, UAE for 12 months+.

The project itself is the digital transformation of a wide variety of documents and services to be available online to the general public (eGovernment).

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing other scrum masters and conducting Scrum of Scrums.

You will be a qualified Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified Agile Coad (ICP-ACC), or similar certification.

 

Required Scrum Skills

  • As a lead scrum master on this project, you will ensure that all SCRUM rituals are being executed by the scrum teams​.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that all content being translated into JIRA, aligns to our standard breakdown of Epics, Stories, Tasks & Bugs and that each ticket is well defined, clearly written, has acceptance criteria, properly estimated and includes all relevant artifacts required for the team to deliver against​.
  • You will gain full understanding of the platform being developed on and the common services and UI components that can be of value for the team​.
  • You are required to have knowledge and appreciation of Agile practices and principles, principally Scrum, and experience advocating these practices and principles across cross-functional teams​.
  • You will ensure Definition of Done (DOD) & Definition of Ready (DOR) are met consistently across all teams in every phase of the project​.
  • Successful track record functioning in large-scale, highly complex, cross-functional development environments​.
  • We are aiming to not only exercise agile in our day to day but to educate our client and partners on how to achieve excellence in the field of digital transformation and applied technologies through the use of SCRUM and agile methodologies.

 

Responsibilities

  • You will lead scrum teams with a clear understanding of business and implementation drive the Agile-driven segments of cross-functional projects​.
  • You will be able to identify, capture and mitigate impediments and dependencies that impact the team to accomplish the sprint goal​.
  • You will do reporting on scrum health using defined templates and tools and help identify key learnings and areas of improvement​.
  • You will help the team in becoming self organized and support them in aligning to the 12 principles of agile which means you are well versed with the agile manifesto and methodologies​.
  • Proven ability to work with development teams using Continuous Delivery practices, such as Continuous Integration (CI), TDD, BDD, Pair Programming​.  You will escalate challenges and roadblocks with a proper action plan, when appropriate, with the right people in the right forum​.
  • You will support the team in building a trusting and respectful environment where issues can be discussed openly and in a calm friendly way​.
  • Experience using Agile backlog management tool(s) JIRA and Confluence​.
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment so it is very important that you are a problem solver who can think in logical and rational way​.
  • Able to work independently with minimum direction​.
  • Experience building and leading new Scrum teams​.
  • Successful track record functioning in large-scale, highly complex, cross-functional development environments​.
