Aspira Senior Management Team

Aspira announces three significant appointments to its executive team

Aspira is delighted to announce several significant changes to Aspira’s executive team. Peter Ryan, MD of Aspira Europe, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Aspira, with former Head of Training Gillian Whelan taking up the role of Chief Commercial Officer. Thomas McGrath, who most recently led Aspira’s Business Consulting Division, has been appointed as Chief Operations Officer.

After 15 years at the helm, CEO and co-founder Pat Lucey and COO and co-founder Colum Horgan will now be joining the Aspira board, advising on strategic growth and international expansion.

Commenting on these appointments, Pat said: “This is a new phase for Aspira, as we continue to build on our reputation as the leading provider of technology project solutions, services and resources. We are delighted that the new executive team is coming from within the company, ensuring that our values and client-ethos will remain unchanged.

“We are so proud of the incredible success that the entire Aspira team has achieved. Since we founded the company 15 years ago, Colum and I have shared the desire to build an international company that would compete and beat the best in the world. We have been able to do that because of the talent, loyalty, dedication and work ethic of this team. As non-executive members of our board, we are looking forward to supporting the senior leadership team’s vision for Aspira, advising on our overall strategy, and expanding the company’s international presence.” Pat Lucey, CEO

As well as holding the role of Global Sales Director, Peter has led Aspira’s European headquarters since 2018, sharing his passion for project management as a tool to bring about digital transformation with clients across the continent.

Gillian has served as project manager, trainer, and consultant at the Aspira Dublin offices since 2018, with an extensive background in IT project management. More recently, Gillian was appointed head of the Aspira Training function, and head of Account Management.

Thomas first joined Aspira in 2012 when he worked on-site as a Business Analyst and Project Manager. In 2019 Thomas re-joined the company to work as part of the senior leadership team to head the Business Consulting Division.

This latest announcement follows Aspira’s 2021 expansion, which saw the opening of new headquarters in Penrose Dock, Cork, alongside the creation of 40 new roles and the opening of new offices in Lisbon, Portugal.
